She was well-traveled and her rug had been on many of those journeys as well. This rug has been in her possession for over 20 years and it has traveled the globe. When I asked Alison more about her rug, she told me that her rug has been to Peru, Brazil, Mexico, India, Argentina, New York, and now Miami. How awesome is that? If this rug could only speak, I bet its first words maybe somewhere along the line of, the dirt I have acquired is from all around the world. Haha! I wanted to take a moment to personally thank Alison for sharing her story with me and for giving me more insight into how valuable rugs really are to their owners. If I am not mistaken, I remember her saying that she was going to give one of her prized possessions to her daughter so that she could in turn make her own new memories.

She said she had called several places and interviewed them but they just couldn’t satisfy her with any of their answers. She also looked online and of course did find some companies, but to her shock, they didn’t clean the rugs themselves. They were the middlemen. This meant that they would go to her home if that was an offered service then give her price (which was upsold) and then took it to a plant that would wash the rugs. Because they don’t clean themselves, Alison would have paid more for the cleaning and may have never known where her rugs were or in who’s hands, they were in. Can you imagine her relief when she actually did find out that we operate a 5,000 square foot plant and we personally hand wash each and every rug ourselves? Because we have been in business for over 27 years was the cherry on top. This meant to Alison that we are reliable, dependable and we are not going anywhere with her precious rugs.
