Persian Rugs are heavy textile rugs that are woven with a lot of symbols and pictures depicting Persian Art and culture. You could also call them Iranian art and culture because Iran was formerly known as Persia.
These rugs look very similar to Oriental Rugs because of their material, design, and handwoven quality. The big difference is that Persian Rugs are made in Iran and specifically reference Persian themes. Oriental Rugs, on the other hand, represent the themes of several different countries throughout what was known as the Orient.

If you own a Persian rug, then the most significant thing you'll have to worry about is sunlight damaging it. Please don't leave the rug near an open window because the sunlight can fade its colors quickly. The extent of the damage depends on which colors were used in the design of the Persian Rug. Some colors fade more than others, especially red and blue colors.
The good news is that you can restore the faded colors of Persian rug restoration company in most cases. Since dyes were originally used to produce these colors, you can dye the rug again to restore the colors. But it would be best if you did not do this yourself unless you know what you're doing. A Professional Persian Rug Restoration Expert is better equipped to apply dye to an existing Persian Rug.
These are not chemically manufactured dyes. The Persian artisans who make their rugs use insect dyes for their red colors. They take the secreted resins from insects like the Coccus cacti and make red dye out of them. Therefore, you need to find a Rug Restoration Expert who has access to such stains. Otherwise, you'll need to use synthetic dyes for your red colors. That is no big deal because most of the other colors require synthetic dyes anyway.

Most people cannot tell the difference between insect dyes and synthetic dyes. It would require rigorous chemical analysis of the rug for anyone to be able to make that distinction. It shouldn't even affect the value as long as the rug's material is in good shape. If it is not, it'll need to get rewoven by an expert artisan to match the rest of the rug.

“We recently had a large 46yr old Chinese rug repaired and cleaned by Oriental Rug Cleaning Service. It has set out fabulous - all the colors are back, the fringe ends fixed & bound expertly, and moth harm concealed through rug repair. We were going to give it off to be done but so glad we found Oriental Rug Care Service locally. The cost was a part of what we would have paid elsewhere.🤩🤩”
