Antique Rug Dry Cleaning: I saw this image on a friend’s Facebook page and wanted to share it. As you can see all the rugs are laying out under the desert sun. After a rug is made it is then sheared making the rug even to the desired pile height of the rug. It is then hand washed and laid out to dry under the natural sun. After the drying is complete, the rug is then brought over to the master shearer to do the final detail work and make the carpet ready to be sold in the market.
Oriental Rug Care is very serious about how we wash rugs and the drying process; we always test for color stability before washing a rug. I wish I had the dessert heat in South Florida. It would be great to antique rug dry cleaning today, lay it flat outside to dry, and by day’s end the rug would be dry! That sounds so awesome.
